Bollywood actress Fatima Sana Shaikh has reportedly walked out of a major studio film, though the reason for her exit has not been revealed.
Indian media reports suggested on September 22 that Shaikh was never officially part of director Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming film The Wives. Earlier in April, speculation had been strong that she had been cast in the project.
Fans were surprised when Bhandarkar later announced three other leading actresses – Regina Cassandra, Sonali Kulkarni, and Mouni Roy – as part of the cast, with no mention of Fatima Sana Shaikh.
Clarifying the matter, Bhandarkar confirmed that shooting for The Wives has already been completed and the film is set to move into post-production. “The film has come out well, and I am eagerly waiting for the audience’s response,” the filmmaker said.
Shaikh, known for her performances in Dangal and Thar, has not yet commented on her decision to part ways with the project.
