
ACCRA: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Ghana, Najeeb Durrani, presented his credentials to President John Mahama on Friday, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its relations with the West African nation.
During the meeting, both sides discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in diverse sectors, including trade, manufacturing, defense, and counter-terrorism.
President Mahama welcomed Pakistani investment in Ghana and encouraged Pakistani companies to explore opportunities, particularly in the manufacturing sector. He also announced plans to send a high-level defense delegation to Pakistan to expand security and counter-terrorism collaboration.
The recent “Pakistan Rice Roadshow” held in the capital, Accra, was also highlighted as a successful initiative to boost bilateral trade. The event brought together leading Pakistani rice exporters and Ghanaian importers, paving the way for stronger commercial engagement between the two countries.
Since the arrival of Ambassador Durrani in Ghana, several Pakistani businesses have expressed keen interest in establishing their presence in the Ghanaian market, signaling a new chapter in Pakistan-Ghana economic cooperation.
