
Serene Air CEO and founder Yunchun Yang met President Asif Ali Zardari in Kashgar today to discuss the airline’s future plans in Pakistan.
According to media wing of presidency, during the meeting, President Zardari urged Serene Air to expand its fleet to strengthen connectivity and enhance air travel networks within the country. Dr. Yang, who holds a Ph.D. from the University of California and heads a listed semiconductor company with subsidiaries in Sweden and the USA, assured the President of further investments in Pakistan’s aviation sector.
Serene Air is notable for being the first Chinese private investment in Pakistan’s aviation industry and the first private Pakistani airline to operate flights to Beijing. Dr. Yang also briefed the President on collaborative projects between Serene Air and the Pakistan Air Force on JF-17 avionics.
The meeting was attended by Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, and the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan.
