KARACHI: Indian television actor Ali Goony has revealed that he has been receiving death threats after refusing to chant a traditional Hindu slogan during a religious puja.
According to media reports, Ali said trolls have targeted him for exercising his religious freedom and personal beliefs.
He added that some extremist individuals are also threatening his close friend and co-actor Jasmin Bhasin, who is being harassed and given death threats. Ali strongly condemned negative attitudes toward Muslims and emphasized that any disrespect toward his mother, sister, or Jasmin would not be tolerated.
Ali Goony stressed that everyone has the right to live according to their own faiths and beliefs, and no one should be forced to follow someone else’s religious slogans or traditions. On social media, users from various communities including Muslims and members of other faiths have expressed support for his stance.
