ISLAMABAD, June 21 (ABC): The University of Gwadar (UG) is all set to introduce Bachelor of Sciences (BS) degree and diplomas courses in Port Management for the building of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Gwadar Port.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir said, “From next semester UG will introduce a new field of studies and new programs will be launched”, adding that a Center of Excellence is being established at the university for the study and research of Maritime Affairs and Marine Sciences.

To derive maximum benefits from Gwadar Port and other CPEC projects, the Federal Government has approved the UG project on a priority basis. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued directives to complete the project in a standard manner within a very short time.

“Work on the project will be started on a priority basis from next financial year (July 2022),” Dr. Sabir added.

The Vice-Chancellor said that scholarships would be given to the deserving students of the university “to attract them towards higher education in the region and no compromise would be made on the quality of higher education”.
