ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court in Islamabad has granted interim bail to Hassan Zahid, the accused in a case involving alleged abduction and death threats against TikToker Samia Hijab.

The hearing was conducted by Additional District and Sessions Judge Aamir Zia, who approved Zahid’s bail against surety bonds worth Rs20,000. The court also directed the accused to join the investigation.

In his bail application, Zahid claimed he was innocent and argued that the case was lodged to harass and blackmail him.

The court has fixed September 9 for arguments on Zahid’s pre-arrest bail petition. Meanwhile, Zahid remains in police custody under a five-day physical remand in another case registered at Shalimar Police Station.
