
ISLAMABAD: The Power Division has issued an update on the restoration of electricity in flood-affected areas, confirming that out of 48 damaged grids and 455 feeders, 170 have been fully restored and 256 partially restored.
According to the report, PESCO areas of Swat, Buner, Shangla, Swabi, and D.I. Khan saw 12 grids and 91 feeders hit. Of these, 85 feeders were fully restored and 6 partially.
In GEPCO’s region, 10 grids and 87 feeders were affected; 82 feeders are now fully restored and 5 partially. LESCO reported 62 damaged feeders across Lahore, Okara, Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Nankana, of which 43 have been partially restored, with full restoration expected by September 5.
FESCO areas, including Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang, Sargodha, Mianwali, and D.I. Khan, reported 26 grids and 76 feeders down; 72 feeders are temporarily restored. MEPCO restored 126 feeders on a temporary basis, while permanent restoration will begin once water recedes.
TESCO’s North Waziristan and Khyber areas had 10 feeders affected, with 1 fully and 4 partially restored. In Hazara Electric Supply Company (HESCO) areas of Mansehra, 2 out of 3 feeders were restored.
The Power Division reaffirmed that complete restoration of electricity in all flood-affected areas remains its top priority.
