A recent glimpse of veteran actress Sanam Baloch enjoying a theatre performance has gone viral on social media, reigniting hopes among fans of a potential return to the screen.
Baloch, who captivated audiences with her performances in acclaimed dramas such as Kankar, Dastaan, Durr-e-Shehwar, Khaas, and Teri Raza, has largely remained away from the limelight since 2019, when she last appeared alongside Ali Rehman Khan in Khaas.
The short video clip, shared on Instagram from Yasir Hussain’s theatre play Monkey Business, shows the actress seated in the audience, smiling and laughing — a moment that delighted her fans. Many took to social media to express joy over seeing the actress after a long hiatus, with some urging her to return to television.
“It made me happy to see her after such a long time,” one fan wrote, while another commented, “She still looks so beautiful.” Another admirer wrote, “Please come back to dramas.”
Sanam Baloch, now 39, began her career with Sindhi-language television before rising to prominence in mainstream Urdu drama serials. Known for her poise and nuanced performances, Baloch became a household name and enjoyed a successful career throughout the 2000s and 2010s.
Her sudden departure from television left a void for many of her fans, particularly as she had consistently delivered well-received roles. The actress, however, shifted her focus to personal life in recent years. While she initially married television host Abdullah Farhatullah, the marriage ended in divorce. She later remarried and surprised her followers by announcing the birth of her daughter on Instagram — a development she had kept private until then.
