After strikes on Iran, Trump warns of new targets if peace not achieved

US President Donald Trump delivered a stark warning to Iran following the recent precision strikes on its key nuclear facilities, urging Tehran to “make peace” swiftly or face far greater military consequences.

In a nationally televised address, President Trump declared the air raids on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites a “spectacular military success,” emphasising that the United States had achieved its objective of dismantling Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity.

“Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated,” Trump said, referring to the deployment of massive bunker-buster bombs in the operation.

Describing Iran as “the bully of the Middle East” and “the world’s number one state sponsor of terror,” the president warned that if Iran did not pursue peace, “there will be either peace or there will be tragedy for Iran far greater than we have witnessed over the last eight days.”

“Remember, there are many targets left,” Trump cautioned. “Tonight’s was the most difficult of them all by far, and perhaps the most lethal. But if peace doesn’t come quickly, we will go to those other targets with precision, speed and skill.”

Trump thanked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his close cooperation during the operation, saying, “We worked as a team like perhaps no team has ever worked before, and we’ve gone a long way to erasing this horrible threat to Israel.”

The US leader ended his address by stating, “Now is the time for peace,” but reiterated that any refusal by Iran to change course would lead to “future attacks [that] will be far greater and a lot easier.”

Following the strikes, which targeted Iran’s nuclear infrastructure with the powerful GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs, tensions remain high as the international community watches closely for Tehran’s next move.
