1 min read

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert regarding the weather situation in Punjab, warning of the start of pre-monsoon rains from this evening.

According to a PDMA spokesperson, several districts across Punjab are expected to experience rain, dust storms, and strong winds. The forecast indicates that the spell of inclement weather will continue until June 23.

Rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Jhelum, and Gujranwala. Showers are also likely in Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Sargodha, Jhang, and Mianwali.

Southern Punjab districts, including Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar are also forecast to receive rainfall from June 21 to 23.

PDMA Director General Irfan Kathia said the rainfall will bring relief by reducing the intensity of the ongoing heatwave and soaring temperatures in the province.
