2 min read

The tentative schedule for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 has surfaced, with India set to host the marquee tournament starting from September 30 in Bengaluru, cricket sources revealed on Sunday.

As per the reported schedule, the opening match of the competition will see hosts India take on Sri Lanka. However, due to diplomatic sensitivities, Pakistan’s matches will be held at neutral venues, with Colombo being finalised as their base for the tournament.

One of the most anticipated fixtures — the Pakistan-India encounter — is expected to take place on October 5 in Colombo.

The Pakistan women’s team will begin their campaign on October 2 against Bangladesh. Their second fixture, a high-voltage match against traditional rivals India, is set three days later.

Australia will face New Zealand on October 1, while Pakistan’s clash against the Australian side is scheduled for October 8. Other matches in Pakistan’s group stage include encounters with England on October 15, New Zealand on October 18, South Africa on October 21, and Sri Lanka on October 24.

According to the tentative plan, the first semi-final is likely to be held in either Guwahati or Colombo, with the second to take place in Bengaluru. The final of the tournament is scheduled for November 2, and may be hosted either in Bengaluru or Colombo, depending on prevailing conditions and logistical considerations.

The ICC has yet to officially announce the schedule, but the reported dates have already generated significant excitement among fans, particularly over the prospect of a Pakistan-India showdown on neutral soil.
