Israel Strikes Iran

3 min read

At least five Iranian citizens were martyred and more than 50 others injured in the Israeli aerial assault on Tehran early Friday, according to a statement issued by Iran’s Ministry of Health.

The Ministry confirmed that all fatalities occurred in the capital, Tehran, following what officials described as a “coordinated and premeditated” military strike by Israeli forces. The aerial bombardment targeted both residential and military sites in one of the most direct escalations between the two countries in recent years.

Health authorities in Iran declared a state of emergency across hospitals in the capital, with all medical personnel placed on high alert. “Emergency protocols have been activated in all major hospitals, and the injured are being provided immediate and intensive care,” said a Health Ministry spokesperson.

According to the ministry, the government has mobilised emergency services and rescue teams across affected areas. “We are doing everything within our power to save lives and ensure swift medical treatment,” the spokesperson added.

Images aired on state TV and shared on social media showed damaged buildings, shattered windows, and emergency responders pulling wounded individuals from debris. Rescue efforts continued throughout the day, with health officials urging residents to stay away from targeted zones to allow emergency teams to work unhindered.

Iranian officials condemned the attack, calling it a “cowardly act of terror” that deliberately endangered civilians. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said the assault proved Israel’s “blatant disregard for human life,” while the Foreign Ministry said the strike represented a violation of international humanitarian law.

The United Nations and several humanitarian organisations have called for immediate restraint, warning that further escalation could lead to large-scale civilian casualties.

With tensions running high, the Ministry of Health reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens and maintaining readiness in the face of possible further attacks. Emergency centers in Tehran and surrounding provinces have been placed on full alert, and blood donation appeals have been issued.
