The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the federal cabinet, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, has approved a series of technical supplementary grants for various ministries and divisions.
However, the summary related to the Mashke, Thalian, and Tarujba white oil pipelines, submitted by the Petroleum Division, has been postponed for further deliberation.
According to an official statement released after the ECC meeting, the Ministry of Finance has sanctioned a grant of Rs1.26 billion for Sindh, under the Wheat Seed Cash Payment Program utilizing unspent funds.
A significant allocation of Rs5.6 billion was also approved for the ADB Women’s Inclusion Project, reflecting the government’s commitment to gender empowerment and financial inclusion.

The ECC also approved a tripartite power purchase agreement for Karachi Nuclear Power Plant Units 2 and 3 (1145 MW), a key component of Pakistan’s long-term energy strategy.
Meanwhile, Rs14 million has been earmarked for the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Despite the greenlighting of multiple grants, the ECC deferred its decision on the white oil pipeline projects — Mashke, Thalian, and Tarujba — pending further review.
The finance minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fiscal discipline while ensuring adequate funding for priority projects aimed at economic stabilization and public welfare.
