Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the observance of a national day of thanksgiving across Pakistan today (Sunday), in recognition of the country’s successful response to Indian aggression and the decisive outcome of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
The prime minister said the day will be dedicated to offering thanks to Allah Almighty, paying tribute to the unparalleled bravery of the Pakistani armed forces, and celebrating the courage and unity of the nation in the face of external threats.
“Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos delivered a comprehensive and effective response to the enemy’s aggression. Pakistan proved its superiority on every front. We bow our heads in gratitude before Allah Almighty for this victory,” said PM Shehbaz.
Despite facing provocation, Pakistan’s leadership and armed forces demonstrated restraint and patience, he added, while remaining fully prepared to defend the nation. “Our response was firm yet responsible, and our defensive measures were carried out with full preparation.”
The prime minister called upon the entire nation — particularly religious scholars — to organize collective prayers and nawafil across the country. He urged people to thank Allah for the nation’s success and to offer special prayers for the martyrs and veterans of the Pakistan armed forces.
“The sacrifices of our armed forces can never be forgotten. The nation stands with them — in respect, in remembrance, and in unity,” he affirmed.
