National Assembly session on Wednesday included written responses to questions posed by members, with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stating that Pakistan is engaged in constructive relations and meaningful negotiations with India.
Dar emphasized that the talks aim to resolve all outstanding issues, including Kashmir. He urged India to create a conducive environment for dialogue, noting that India’s illegal occupation of Kashmir remains a significant hurdle.
“Despite challenges in bilateral ties, Pakistan has acted responsibly,” the foreign minister stated, adding that the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) has been maintained.
He also revealed that Pakistan renewed the Kartarpur Corridor agreement with India for another five years in October 2024.
On Afghanistan, Dar said diplomatic engagement with the neighboring country remains a priority for Pakistan. However, he pointed out that terrorist groups using Afghan territory pose a major obstacle in bilateral relations.
“So far, our efforts to resolve this issue have not yielded any concrete results,” he added.
