Adiala Jail chief moves IHC over conflicting rulings on Imran Khan’s meetings

2 min read

The Superintendent of Adiala Jail has moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) after multiple verdicts have resulted in conflicting orders for the jail authorities.

The cases in concern are related to incarcerated former premier Imran Khan’s meetings with his family and members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

In the petition filed in the IHC, Adiala Jail Superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum also requests constitution of a larger bench in this regard, where all cases pertaining to Khan’s meetings are consolidated and heard by one bench.

The petition has been filed through Advocate Naveed Malik, which contends that the SOPs of Imran Khan’s meetings have been decided in the intra-court appeal. The petition requests the court that the petitions regarding the PTI meetings, which are scheduled for hearing in different benches, should be combined and a larger bench should be formed to hear the petitions regarding the PTI meetings.

The Registrar’s Office has fixed the petition for hearing tomorrow along with the objections. IHC Acting Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar will hear the petition tomorrow.
