A critical security vulnerability has been discovered in Microsoft’s Windows operating system, prompting the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT) to issue an advisory.

The advisory warns that the flaw could allow hackers to compromise systems and steal personal data. Users’ names, domain credentials, and passwords are at risk, with the potential for unauthorized access to sensitive information even without opening files.

The vulnerability affects multiple versions of Windows, ranging from Windows 7 to Windows 11. CERT has recommended creating a robust security strategy to mitigate risks.

Users are advised to avoid shared drives, shared folders, and email attachments, which could serve as potential attack vectors.
