
BEIJING (Internews): Chief minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif introduced Punjab’s important position in China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and its economic advantages to the Chinese investors during the event held in Guangzhou.
According to the details, Maryam delivered the remarks at the “China-Pakistan Punjab Province Roundtable Conference” co-organized by Q Group (qgroup.co) and Beijing Overseas Returnees Association for Science and Technology.
Maryam Nawaz announced a series of preferential investment policies for Chinese companies, including 10 years of free land lease, 30 years of tax incentives and financial support in connection with the attraction of Chinese investment in the province.
The conference was themed “Inviting Chinese Companies To Invest, Build And Expand Their Business In Punjab”, and brought together political and business elites from China and Pakistan to discuss new opportunities for cooperation and development.
On the Chinese side, more than 50 outstanding corporate representatives, including Dongfeng Group, GAC Group, and Zhongneng Electric, participated, covering more than ten industries such as new energy, health, textiles, trade, and logistics.
Marwan E. Faddoul, partner of Q Group briefly introduced the efforts of Q Group as a venture capital incubator to promote China-Pakistan economic and trade cooperation under the framework of the “Belt and Road Initiative”.
Marwan mentioned that the meeting was originally planned to invite 15 Chinese companies, but eventually attracted more than 50 company representatives to participate actively, which fully demonstrated the attention and expectations of Chinese companies for the Pakistani market.
Guan Shuai, Chairman of Beijing Overseas Returnees Association, then shared his insights on China-Pakistan economic cooperation. He pointed out that next year will be the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, and the 13th year of the development of the “Belt and Road” strategy and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
This meeting is not only a continuation of China-Pakistan economic cooperation, but also has extraordinary significance due to the special visit of Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Representatives of Chinese companies spoke actively at the meeting. More than ten guests from Guangdong Import and Export Co., Ltd., Beijing Tianzhihang Medical Technology Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Group, GAC Group, Baidu Paddle Paddle and others elaborated on their companies’ overseas business layout and their expectations and confidence in the Pakistani market.
The meeting built an efficient communication platform for China and Pakistan and paved the way for Chinese enterprises to expand into the Pakistani market. The delegates exchanged contact information with the ministers of energy, finance, technology, and commerce of Punjab Province, laying a solid foundation for deepening cooperation in the future.
