A DHL cargo plane crashed into a residential home near Vilnius early Monday morning, leaving one person dead and two others injured.

Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT reported that the aircraft, a 31-year-old Boeing 737 operated by the Madrid-based Swiftair, struck a two-story home close to Vilnius International Airport. Emergency responders confirmed the injured were transported to a hospital, where one was later pronounced dead.

The plane was en route from Leipzig, Germany, to Vilnius when the crash occurred. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the accident. Weather conditions at the time featured freezing temperatures and cloud cover before sunrise.

The Lithuanian airport authority confirmed the crash and noted that emergency services, including fire trucks, responded promptly to the site. DHL Group, headquartered in Bonn, Germany, and Swiftair have not yet provided statements regarding the incident.

Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances leading to the crash. The area around the site remains secured as authorities assess the damage.
