Household water waste: Rs20,000 fine on washing cars, floors with pipes

1 min read

In a move to curb water wastage, the Rawalpindi administration has announced strict penalties for using pipes to wash houses, floors, or cars. Residents found violating the rule will face fines ranging from Rs10,000 to Rs20,000, depending on the nature of their water connection.

According to the newly issued notification, domestic connections will be fined Rs10,000 for the first offense, while commercial connections will be fined Rs20,000. Repeat violations will result in disconnection of the water supply.

The decision aims to address the growing water crisis in the region by promoting responsible water usage among citizens. Authorities have urged residents to cooperate with the new regulations to avoid penalties and contribute to water conservation efforts.
