PTI announces nationwide protest rallies with other political parties

1 min read

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that it will hold rallies and protests across the country by forging alliances with other political parties at both national and provincial levels.

Talking the media outside Adiala jail, PTI leader Asad Qaiser criticized the government, calling it “fascist” and questioning its democratic claims. “What else should elected representatives discuss with their leader besides political matters?” he said when asked about their meeting with PTI’s jailed founder Imran Khan.

He said that the party was thrashing out a strategy for the upcoming protests and nationwide demonstrations will be held soon.

Qaiser accused Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz of running the provincial government through “undemocratic tactics”, saying that PTI’s democratic rights were being suppressed.

“These tactics won’t intimidate us; it’s a misconception,” he said pledging to continue PTI’s constitutional and legal struggle.

“Governments like these don’t last long,” he said.
