PCB drops key players from central contract list over ‘fitness issues’

1 min read

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced its central contract list, excluding several prominent players due to fitness concerns. Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imam-ul-Haq, and Sarfaraz Ahmed did not receive contracts, with Osama Ameer, Fakhar Zaman, and Imam-ul-Haq reportedly failing to pass the fitness test.

In addition to these players, Mohammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim, all-rounder Faheem Ashraf, and fast bowler Ehsanullah were also left out of the contracts.

Emerging talents Tayyab Tahir, Shahnawaz Dahani, Mohammad Haris, and Zaman Khan similarly missed out, as PCB emphasized fitness and performance criteria in the latest contract selection.

The reshuffling underscores PCB’s commitment to maintaining a rigorous standard, prioritizing fitness and form as essential components of team selection.
