2 min read

A case has been registered against Dr Mahrang Baloch, a Baloch rights activist, at Karachi’s Quaidabad Police Station.

The case was filed by a local businessman, Asad Ali, who accused Baloch of incitement and involvement in facilitating terrorist activities. The case involves provisions of incitement, including terrorism.

According to the first information report (FIR), Mahrang Baloch is alleged to have ties with terrorist organizations, misleading the educated youth of Balochistan, and receiving directives from foreign enemies to fuel terrorism in the region.

The police report suggests that Baloch has been using rallies and public processions as a cover to assist terrorists in their operations. The FIR states that such people are in contact with the neighbouring country and enemy elements.

It further alleges that Mahrang gets targets from foreign enemies after which terrorism increases.

Authorities believe Dr. Baloch has been instrumental in orchestrating terrorist movements, including reconnaissance and attacks on sensitive installations in the country. The case has been filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act, including charges of incitement and trespassing.
