Fatman Scoop, the renowned American rapper and hype-man, has tragically passed away at the age of 53. The news of his death emerged after he collapsed onstage during a performance on Friday night.

Birch Michael, Scoop’s tour manager, confirmed the rapper’s passing on August 31 through social media platforms Instagram and Facebook. In a heartfelt post, Michael expressed his deep sorrow and paid tribute to the late artist.

It is with the heaviest of hearts I announce the passing of Isaac Freeman III, known professionally as Fatman Scoop,” Michael wrote on Facebook. “You taught me how to be the man I am today. I love you Scoop, thank you so much for everything you gave to me. Rest In Peace x.”

Michael, who is also known as Pure Ice, further honored Scoop in an emotional Instagram tribute. “You took me all over the world and had me performing alongside you on some of the biggest and greatest stages on this planet,” Michael wrote. “The things you taught me have truly made me the man I am today. Thank you so much, I love you x.”

The announcement of Scoop’s death prompted an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow artists. Lil John, a prominent figure in the hip-hop community, wrote “REST WELL, BROTHER” in the comments section. Scoop’s frequent collaborators Timbaland and Fat Joe also expressed their grief through a series of emojis.
