Ahmed elected new president of Bangladesh Cricket Board

DHAKA: Former Bangladesh captain and chief selector Faruk Ahmed has been elected as the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

BCB directors elected the new president during an emergency meeting of the board at the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Dhaka on Wednesday morning.

Ahmed was nominated as a BCB director by the National Sports Council (NSC) and was then elected as the president.

At the beginning of the meeting, Nazmul Hassan Papon resigned from his position as BCB president after serving the board for over a decade. His resignation was accepted during the meeting.

Subsequently, Ahmed was appointed as the new BCB president.
