BEIJING: China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said that projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) have significantly alleviated Pakistan’s energy shortages, reduced electricity costs, and bolstered socioeconomic development.

During a press briefing in Beijing earlier, Mao Ning reaffirmed China’s unwavering support for Pakistan, emphasizing the enduring strategic partnership between the two countries.

“China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners who always support each other and share weal and woe together,” said Mao Ning.

The spokesperson highlighted China’s role in aiding Pakistan’s economic growth, improving livelihoods, and maintaining financial stability.

Mao underscored that China-Pakistan energy cooperation is grounded in principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefit, adhering to market laws and commercial rules.

“We believe that with the joint effort of both sides, China-Pakistan energy cooperation will continue to be a success, and deliver more to our two peoples,” Mao added.

The remarks reflect the deep-seated bilateral ties and the commitment of both nations to furthering cooperation in various sectors, particularly in energy, to ensure mutual prosperity and development.
