Govt expedites digitization, 5G implementation following SIFC recommendations

2 min read

The government, acting on the recommendations of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), has instructed the Ministry of IT and Telecom and the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) to accelerate the digitization of procurement and other government functions.

To facilitate this, all government agencies will process procurements through the Cloud Services Procurement Framework. The Managing Director of PPRA has been directed to expedite the approval process for this system and ensure its implementation across all provinces.

Additionally, the 5G auction is set to be completed this month. The Law Division has been instructed to actively work on pending cases in the Islamabad and Sindh High Courts to resolve them promptly.

The Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Affairs has allocated Rs235 million to the Pakistan Startup Fund, with the assigned account now open. Similarly, Rs229 million has been sanctioned for the E-Rozgar program, and its account has also been opened.

These initiatives are part of several actions taken by SIFC over the past year to address long-standing issues. SIFC has achieved these results through mutual consultation and transparency, bringing together all stakeholders to provide single-window facilitation.
