IHC orders federal govt to pay Rs3m to missing person’s father

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) directed the federal to pay three million rupees in compensation to the father of the missing person named Haroon Muhammad ahead of the next hearing.

IHC Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the petition related to the recovery of Haroon Muhammad, missing since July 2009.

The court ordered that the federal government should pay Rs3 million in compensation to the father of the missing citizen.

Lawyer Iman Mazari said that the petitioner’s family is receiving threats for fighting the case. The court issued a directive to the IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through the Interior Secretary to provide security to the petitioner.

He also ordered to registration of a case against the security personnel. Further hearing of the case will be held after two weeks.
