India’s explosive batter Suryakumar Yadav underwent a successful groin surgery in Munich, Germany yesterday to treat a sports hernia.

The 33-year-old batter took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to thank his fans for their concern and announced that he will return to the field soon.

“I want to thank everyone for their concerns and well wishes for my health, and I am happy to tell you all that I will be back very soon,” he posted after the surgery.

Yadav has also undergone surgery for his ankle injury, which he suffered during the South Africa tour last month.

He was in Bengaluru for rehab for his ankle injury, however, the worsening condition of his sports hernia prompted him to undergo surgery for that.

He is likely to achieve full fitness ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), scheduled in mid-March.

Yadav led India in the Ithree-match T20I series in South Africa before he was ruled out of the ODI series against South Africa, as well as the recently concluded home T20I series against Afghanistan.

India won the three-match ODI series against South Africa 2-1 and whitewashed Afghanistan in the T20I series.
