South Waziristan: 5 laborers killed in assault on police station

In a tragic incident on Thursday night, a police station under construction in the remote area of South Waziristan became the target of an attack, resulting in the loss of five lives and injuring another worker.

The assailants, yet to be identified, opened fire on the under-construction police station, claiming the lives of five labour workers.

The victims, all hailing from Punjab, have been identified as Mohammad Uzair, Baqar Ali, Shehbaz Ahmed, and Shehzad Ahmed. The devastating incident has left the community in shock and mourning.

District Police Officer (DPO) Farmanullah, while addressing the media, assured a thorough investigation into the matter. “No details can be shared right now about the firing incident,” he stated, emphasizing that comprehensive information would be provided once the investigation is complete.

The bodies of the deceased and the injured worker have been shifted to the district hospital for post-mortem examinations and medical treatment.
