The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) on Thursday unanimously approved the request of Supreme Court Justice Mazahar Naqvi’s request for open proceedings on his complaint.

Chief Justice Faiz Isa chaired the meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) with the participation of Justice Sardar Tariq and Justice Ejaz ul Ahsan, Justice Amir Bhatti, and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan.

Complaints against Justice Mazahar Naqvi were examined in the SJC in which Justice Mazahar Naqvi’s lawyer Khawaja Haris appeared before the SJC.

Khawaja Haris requested the Judicial Council to postpone the proceedings and now constitutional petitions are scheduled for hearing tomorrow in the SJC.

“It would not be appropriate to hear the case till the decision of the Supreme Court,” Khawaja Haris said.
