TTP leader ‘gunned down’ in Afghanistan by unidentified attackers

2 min read

A leader of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been hunted down in Afghanistan. Attiqur Rehman alias Tipu Gul Marwat was killed in an attack by unidentified assailants in the Kunar province of Afghanistan.

The killed terrorist was said to be involved in several terrorist activities in Pakistan.

The death of the terrorist group leader is also a clear proof of the presence of the TTP in Afghanistan. TTP commanders are being killed mysteriously due to internal differences and chaos.

The interim Afghan government will not take action against the TTP terrorists even after provision of clear evidence.

A few days ago, the Special Representative for Afghanistan Asif Ali Durrani had said that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was carrying out terrorist attacks on Pakistan from Afghanistan and stated that the Kabul interim government must take action to stop this.

Durrani said “the peace [the Taliban] brought to Afghanistan must also be brought to our borderlands”. He said the TTP fighters in Afghanistan, who he noted were using US weapons, should be “returned to Pakistan or neutralized”.
