1 min read

SHANGHAI: The cruise industry in Shanghai has achieved ticket sales of more than 300 million yuan (about 41.66 million U.S. dollars) since the pilot resumption of the country’s international cruise services in late March.

Since the end of March, with Shanghai’s active promotion of the pilot resumption of international cruise services, over 4,000 new jobs have been created, the municipal government said on Friday.

Thanks to its pilot resumption, the cruise economy in Shanghai has exhibited a promising trend of swift recovery and increased resilience, said Zhu Min, director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce.

Shanghai has recently unveiled an action plan to promote the high-quality development of the international cruise economy from 2023 to 2025.
