Conditions like heat stroke, heat cramps, heat exhaustion and other health complications can occur. Seeking immediate medical help is very important because heat stroke is a medical emergency that can result in serious consequences or even death without prompt treatment. Over the past few days, an increase in cases of diarrhoea, gastroenteritis, typhoid, heat stroke and viral fever has been noticed.
The more active you are in high temperatures, the more likely you are to develop heat-related illness. The elderly, young children and people with chronic illnesses are more likely to develop heat-related illness and get sick faster than healthy adults. So it is essential to take necessary precautions to stay safe during the summer season. From drinking the right amount of fluids to wearing light and loose clothing in light shades, plan outdoor activities during the cool season and protect yourself from the sun.

Beat the summer heat and maintain good health by including watermelon, muskmelon, greens, buttermilk, mango, lemon, yogurt, coconut and mint in your diet. On the other hand, avoiding coffee, pickles, soda, excess fruit juice, alcohol, high salt intake, milkshakes, fried foods and junk food is recommended to stay in top shape.
