ISLAMABAD: A Czech athlete, Josef Salek aka Joska, set a new world record for the longest time in a belly plank position (male) with 9.38 hours and 47 seconds.
The record was previously held by Daniel Scully – an Australian citizen – with a time of 9:30 hours and 1 second.
Abdominal planks are one of the most punishing exercises, with many people struggling to maintain form for just a few minutes.
Joska, a therapist, teacher and personal development coach, accepted the challenge at the AVATAR festival at the Park Hotel in Pilsen, Czech Republic, according to GuinnessWorldRecords.com.
Speaking at the event, Joska said she led what she described as a life of excess and poor health, until a life-changing event made her rethink everything and become a motivational coach.
“Five years ago, I was 15 kilos (33 pounds) overweight, I loved alcohol and cigarettes,” he added.
The athlete said a certain life-changing moment led her to this transformation, adding, “So the thing I want to give to the world is that no matter what age you are, you can just change to feel happier, more vital and healthier. can.”
“Actually, that’s the message I wanted to spread by breaking the record.”
