SWITZERLAND: Three people were killed when their light plane crashed in the Ponts-de-Martel area of Switzerland near the French border on Saturday morning, Swiss police said. The accident happened in a forest near the village of La Combe Dernier in the canton of Neuchâtel at 10:20 a.m. local time (0820 GMT), local police said.
The pilot and his two passengers died on the spot. The rescue operation proved difficult as the accident took place in a particularly steep terrain, police said. The cause of the accident was not immediately known, but an investigation has been launched, they added.
