Political parties should start dialogue for general elections: Sirajul Haq

2 min read

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq said that the political parties should initiate dialogue on the single item agenda of general elections.

During a meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders Asad Umar and Senator Ijaz Ch at at

Mansoorah Lahore, Siraj said he believed the polls in two provinces would not bring any solution rather it would add to the prevailing crises, fearing that the defeated sides would not accept the results.

Leaders from the two parties agreed that the implementation of the constitution is the only solution to the problems and urged all stakeholders to unite for it.

Siraj said the people are the final authority to make decision about the future of the country, adding that people must be given right to elect their representatives through free and fair elections.

Referring to the killing of over 20 people in stampede at the food distribution points, Siraj said political parties and national institutions were in a state of war while the masses were burning in the fire of inflation and lawlessness.

He urged all the political leadership to pay intention to the problems of common man instead of fighting with each on trivial issues.
