ISLAMABAD, Sep 27(ABC): Islamabad Court on Tuesday extended the interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan till October 13 in cases related to vandalism and damage to government property during the Long March towards Islamabad.

PTI Chairman’s lawyer Babar Awan appeared before the Sessions Court Islamabad and pleaded the court to give Imran Khan exemption from personal appearance in the court as the former prime minister cannot attend the hearing because of his Lahore visit.

The court accepted Imran Khan’s exemption from appearance plea and extended his bail till October 13.

It should be noted that Punjab police lodged FIRs amid the long march on May 25th when PTI leaders along with workers wanted to leave the Punjab premises to reach Islamabad for what they called “Haqiqi Azadi” march.

FIR against Imran Khan has been lodged at the Kohsar Police Station.
