Commercial flights to face route restrictions till March 31

1 min read

The Pakistan Airports Authority has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), announcing temporary closure of certain air routes within the Karachi Flight Information Region and the Lahore Flight Information Region in view of the evolving regional situation.

According to aviation sources, different sectors of the Karachi and Lahore flight information regions will remain unavailable for commercial air traffic from March 3 to March 31, between 9:00am and 3:00pm daily.

Officials said the decision has been taken due to likely exercises by fighter jets of the Pakistan Air Force. During the specified hours, the affected air corridors will not be available for commercial operations.

Airlines have been advised to adjust their flight schedules accordingly to avoid disruption.

Aviation authorities maintained that the temporary restrictions are precautionary in nature and aimed at ensuring flight safety during the conduct of aerial drills.
