Section 144 has been imposed in the federal capital in view of planned protests against the reported martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, following alleged U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran.
According to a statement issued by the district administration, Section 144 is in force across Islamabad and all forms of public gatherings have been declared unlawful.
Authorities warned that any protest, rally or assembly in violation of the restrictions would invite strict legal action.
The administration urged citizens to refrain from becoming part of any gathering and to cooperate with law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and order in the city.
Meanwhile, a rally against the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran was being taken out on Embassy Road. In view of the protest, all routes leading to the Red Zone have been sealed, and security has been placed on high alert to prevent any untoward incident.
