Details of the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) five-year recoveries were presented in the Senate during a session chaired by Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.
The Ministry of Law informed the House that over the past five years, recoveries totaling Rs11.565 trillion were made. According to NAB, more than Rs65.88 billion were recovered through plea bargain arrangements, while over Rs108 million were collected under voluntary return mechanisms.
The bureau further stated that recoveries exceeding Rs38.4 billion were made under settlements. In addition, state land worth Rs1,098 billion was retrieved, and miscellaneous recoveries amounted to more than Rs479.26 billion.
The presentation was made as part of the ongoing parliamentary oversight process, with members seeking further clarity on the figures and mechanisms involved in the recoveries.
