Pakistan to face India in Women’s T20 World Cup on June 14

The International Cricket Council has announced the full schedule of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, set to be staged in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5.

The 12 participating teams have been divided into two groups for the tournament. Group One features Australia women’s cricket team, India women’s cricket team, Pakistan women’s cricket team, South Africa women’s cricket team, Bangladesh women’s cricket team and Netherlands women’s cricket team.

Group Two includes hosts England women’s cricket team along with New Zealand women’s cricket team, Sri Lanka women’s cricket team, West Indies women’s cricket team, Ireland women’s cricket team and Scotland women’s cricket team.

The tournament will begin on June 12 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground with the opening match between England and Sri Lanka.

A high-profile encounter is scheduled for June 14 at the same venue, when Pakistan take on arch-rivals India in one of the most anticipated fixtures of the group stage.

Pakistan will play their third group match against South Africa on June 17, followed by contests against Australia on June 23 and the Netherlands on June 27. They are also scheduled to face Bangladesh on June 20.

The semi-finals will be held on June 30 and July 2, while the final is set for July 5 at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

According to the format, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage, setting the stage for a competitive race to the title in what promises to be a landmark edition of the tournament.
