Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Asim Iftikhar Ahmad has said there is no military solution to the war between Russia and Ukraine, urging renewed diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.
Addressing a special meeting of the United Nations Security Council marking four years of the Russia-Ukraine war, the envoy reiterated that Pakistan has consistently emphasized negotiations as the only viable path to peace.
He recalled that Pakistan had supported dialogue between the two sides in 2022 and continues to call for the resumption of talks to achieve a peaceful settlement.
The ambassador stressed that any resolution of the conflict should take into account the regional security concerns of all parties and be guided by the principles enshrined in the UN Charter.
