Liaqat Baloch, Vice Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami, held important meetings with opposition leaders to discuss the country’s political situation and strategy for upcoming opposition movements.
In Islamabad, Liaqat Baloch met with National Assembly Opposition Leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas. During the discussions, the leaders agreed that upholding the constitution, respecting the independence of the judiciary, and acknowledging the public mandate are essential to resolving the ongoing political crisis.
Liaqat Baloch also called on the Prime Minister to convene a national-level all-party conference to address Balochistan’s issues, stressing that attempts to resolve the province’s problems through force and intimidation have failed. He said the people of Balochistan are frustrated with government policies and corruption and expressed that citizens want relief from the outdated political system.
In Lahore, he met with Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Chief Minister of Punjab, to discuss overall political developments and opposition strategy.
Criticizing government policies, Liaqat Baloch said poor strategies have led to the decline of agriculture, industry, and trade, adversely affecting the country’s economy.
