An 18-year-old British-Pakistani youth was killed in a knife attack in the city of Birmingham, police confirmed on Saturday.
According to West Midlands Police, the incident took place on Friday night during Taraweeh prayers in the car park of Oldbury Jamia Mosque. Officers and emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the stabbing.
Authorities said two other young men, aged 19 and 22, were also injured in the attack and were shifted to hospital for medical treatment. The 18-year-old victim, however, succumbed to his injuries. His identity has not yet been made public.
Police have registered the case as murder and launched a formal investigation. Detectives have appealed to eyewitnesses and members of the public to come forward with any information that could assist in identifying and arresting those responsible.
