CTD to be made operational in Gilgit-Baltistan soon

Caretaker Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Justice (retd) Yar Muhammad Khan has said that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) will soon be made operational in the region to strengthen security arrangements.

He made these remarks during a meeting with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad. The two sides held a detailed discussion on security arrangements for upcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, the overall law and order situation, and measures for the promotion of tourism.

The caretaker chief minister stated that the CTD would soon become functional in Gilgit-Baltistan. In response, the interior minister assured full cooperation, saying the CTD would be provided modern technology and weapons and that all security-related requirements of the region would be met.

Mohsin Naqvi further said that additional personnel would be deployed during the elections to ensure peace and stability. He stressed that maintaining law and order at all costs was essential, adding that a safe and peaceful environment is fundamental for the promotion of tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan.
