The German Junior Open Squash Championship 2026 witnessed a strong performance from Pakistan’s Ali sisters as Maheenor Ali and Sahrish Ali advanced to the quarterfinal stage.
According to details, both players secured convincing victories in Round 2 of the tournament.
Maheenor Ali defeated her opponent Rafaela Guidoni with a straight-sets win of 11-4, 11-4 and 11-7, showcasing strong control throughout the match.
Sahrish Ali also delivered an impressive performance, overcoming Nerea Sastre by 11-6, 11-2 and 11-2 to qualify for the quarterfinals.
In the quarterfinals, Maheenor will face an Egyptian opponent, while Sahrish is set to compete against a German player.
Meanwhile, their third sister, Mahwish Ali, was also scheduled to represent Pakistan in the tournament. However, after winning the National Women’s Junior Squash Championship, she was unable to reach the airport on time due to protests and road closures in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while travelling from Rawalpindi to Peshawar.
As a result of missing her flight, Mahwish Ali was unable to participate in the international event.
