Bangladesh thrash Pakistan by 54 runs in Women’s Asia Cup semi-final

In the second semi-final of the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 54 runs at the Asian Institute Stadium in Bangkok.

Chasing a modest target of 111, Pakistan was bowled out for just 56, registering the lowest score of the tournament. Shol Zulfiqar scored 14, while Yasira Amir and captain Hafsa Khalid contributed 11 runs each before being dismissed.

For Bangladesh, Sanjida Akter took 3 wickets, captain Fahima Khatun claimed 2, and Fariha Tarsana, Fatema Jahan, and Farjana Asmin picked up one wicket each.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. Bangladesh posted 110 runs for 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, with captain Fahima Khatun remaining unbeaten on 40.
Pakistan’s captain Hafsa Khalid took 2 wickets, while Waheeda Akhtar, Momina Riyasat, Anusha Nasir, and Umaima Sohail claimed one wicket apiece.

In the first semi-final, India defeated Sri Lanka to secure their place in the final.
