Rajpal Yadav’s wife thanks Bollywood for support during Tihar jail case

Radha Yadav, wife of Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, has expressed gratitude to her colleagues in the film industry for standing by the actor during his difficult time in Tihar Jail over a cheque bounce case.

According to Indian media reports, Rajpal Yadav surrendered to Tihar Jail authorities in Delhi after being unable to repay loans due to severe financial difficulties.

Speaking to a news agency, Radha Yadav said that the industry had supported them wholeheartedly and thanked everyone who stepped forward to help.

The actor’s bail hearing is scheduled for today, and the family remains hopeful that he will be released, as several prominent Bollywood actors have extended their support. Among those assisting Rajpal Yadav are Sonu Sood, Mika Singh, and Gurmeet Choudhary, while Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Varun Dhawan have also expressed their support.

This development follows an emotional statement by Rajpal Yadav in which he said he had no friends in the industry. Following his remarks, several major Bollywood personalities came forward to offer assistance.

Sonu Sood was the first to publicly appeal for help, after which other actors reached out.

Rajpal Yadav’s manager stated that promises of support have been made, but such arrangements take time. The family has been advised to stay mentally strong, especially with several events scheduled at home in February, and hopes that Rajpal Yadav will be released soon.

Rajpal Yadav, known for his performances in films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Hungama, Dhol, Chup Chup Ke, Phir Hera Pheri, and Kal Ho Naa Ho, has built a reputation as one of Bollywood’s leading comic actors.

The actor was imprisoned after the Delhi High Court rejected his plea seeking more time to repay around 9 crore rupees owed.

Rajpal Yadav had earlier been sentenced in April 2018 to six months in jail with a heavy fine for failing to repay loans, though he was immediately granted bail. In June 2024, the High Court temporarily suspended his sentence, provided he took “serious and genuine steps” to seek an amicable settlement with the opposing party.
