Sri Lankan cricketer Bhanuka Rajapaksa has made a controversial claim, asserting that Indian players use bats that are different from those used by other cricketers.
According to forign media, in a recent interview, the Sri Lankan batsman said Indian cricketers employ bats that are more powerful than even the best commercially available options. “When the ball strikes these bats, it feels as if a special rubber layer is applied, generating extra power,” he explained.
Rajapaksa added that these bats are not available for ordinary players and that within cricketing circles it is widely understood that only a few select players have access to them.
According to him, this explains why Indian batsmen are able to hit big shots with comparatively less effort.
The statement has sparked debate among fans and cricket experts, though the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Indian players have not yet issued an official response.
